Recreational Soccer - for ages U4 to U13
Recreational soccer provides an opportunity for kids to be involved in an organized soccer program in a non-competitive environment.  At NLSC we offer U4 CoEd, U5, U6, U7, U8, U10, and U12 CoEd.  Our coaching staff for the recreational program consists of volunteer parents/relatives.
 
NLSC recreational program is a non-competitive league, which means a NO score, NO standings, NO protest league.  The rule applies to coaches, parents, and players.  All players will play about the same amount of time in each game and will have an opportunity to play at each position.  NLSC uses small-sided games to give players more opportunites to touch the ball.   
 
We also hire professional trainers to work with our U4 thru U12 teams during the summer to better prepare them for competitive soccer as well as give them an example of what to expect at the competitive program level.  We are always in need of volunteers for coaches, assistant coaches, and team parents.

CLUB COMMUNICATIONS
The primary form of communication between the club and our membership will be email.  Please insure that the email address listed in "email 1" of your household is up to date and also insure your phone numbers are correct.  This is only way the club/coaches will be able contact you.  To verify and/or make corrections, login to your household in our online registration system and select option #4.  If you do not remember your login/password, please send an email to: recdirector@northernlightssoccer.org

COACHING STAFF
Our coaching staff for the recreational program consists of volunteer parents/relatives.  If parents/relatives do not volunteer to coach, then we will not be able to make enough, if any, teams.  Not enough teams=not much playing time; No teams=no soccer.  We need your help.  To volunteer as a coach, login to your household in our online registration system and select option #4.  Select your name under family members, select which child you are volunteering to coach for, and click the update button.  Once the registration system opens for Spring/Summer 2012, you also can volunteer as a coach during that time.  If you do not remember your login/password, please send an email to: recdirector@northernlightssoccer.org.  For more information on coaching, click here: COACH INFORMATION

ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW AVAILABLE
Online registration is now open for the Spring/Summer 2012 Recreational Soccer Program and will be available 24-hours a day.  On-line registration is our preferred method for accepting your registration as it lightens the workload on our volunteers and insures data integrity.  All registrations received after 2/29/12 will be subject to a $20 late fee but will be accepted until team rosters are full. Please review the information below and proceed to registering your child(ren) by clicking the registration button.

NLSC Refund Policy
All requests for refunds must be made in writing and directed to that particular sport’s Commissioner. All refunds will be assessed a $15.00 processing fee. Please check with the individual sports commissioner to determine the refund policy for that sport.  No refunds will be given once the season has started.  Refunds for injuries occurring after the season starts may be allowed.   In order to be entitled to partial refund for injuries, the injuries must be reported to the Sports Commissioner in writing, indicating the extent of your child’s injury, and that your child will not be able to participate in that sport for the remainder of the season. Contacting your child’s coach will not be accepted as suitable notification.
 
NLSC Late Registration Policy
A non-refundable $20 late fee will be assessed to all registrations that are processed after the published registration sessions have expired. A credit card will be required to complete the registration process.

To determine which age group your child will be placed in, use the table below.  First, find the birthdate range that your childs birthdate falls into then refer directly above for the correct age level for your child.  If your child was born prior to 8/1/99, traveling soccer is the only option we have available.

Late Registration Fee *After the February 29th deadline a $20 late fee will be added to the registration fee listed above.  Also, registrations received after deadline will be put on a waiting list and placed on teams if roster spots are available.  Please register early to insure your child will be able to play soccer.

Hello Northern Lights Rec Soccer Parents -

NLSC is excited to announce that NLSC will be partnering with North Metro & Coon Rapids to offer a U15 - U18 Co-Ed soccer program.

Each Soccer Club will have their own team, but they will play all of the teams in the program.

Here are the details:

WHEN: Tuesday & Thursday Nights
TIME:  6:00pm or 7:15pm
WHERE:  Rum River Elementary in Andover or the Coon Rapids Soccer Complex
SEASON:  May 1st - June 28th
Cost:  $90

The format will be 5v5 on fields that U10's usually play on.  Teams will have a roster of 8 - 10 players.

Weather Cancellation Policy

Recreational Soccer Weather Cancellation
Please keep our weather policy in mind throughout the season; the hotline number listed below will only be updated for weather if there is a change in policy or if weather cancellations occur. Rain-outs will be announced on the hotline by 5:00pm the day of the session.  If there is not a hotline message canceling the scheduled session, you should come to the fields because the weather is too questionable to predetermine cancellation. 

It is important to note that we will not cancel sessions prior to the scheduled session time due to weather unless it is obvious that the severe weather will interfere throughout the entire night.  If the fields have a lot of standing water on them from raining all day, the sessions will be cancelled.  At the Recreational Soccer level, cancelled sessions are not rescheduled, they are just not played.
